E-Challan Checks Before You Buy or Transfer

Camera-based traffic challans in major Punjab cities can sit unpaid against a registration number. Clearing them early avoids transfer delays.

Why e-challans matter in deals

Unpaid fines can block or complicate ownership transfer. A vehicle that looks clean on paper may still have camera tickets in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, or other covered areas.

Practical checklist

1. Ask the seller for the registration number and run official challan portals used in Punjab cities.
2. Pay outstanding tickets through official options such as e-Pay Punjab.
3. Save receipts with the deal file.
4. Still run MTMIS ownership verification before money changes hands.

What to do if tickets show up

1. Confirm the registration number is correct — mistyped plates cause false alarms.
2. Note ticket city, date, and amount from the official challan tool only.
3. Pay via e-Pay Punjab or the payment path shown on that official portal.
4. Agree in writing who pays before transfer if the seller will clear dues after booking.

Islamabad

1. Open the challan tool listed by Islamabad Excise: challan verification.
2. Start from islamabadexcise.gov.pk so you are on the department’s own service list. Details are also on Islamabad Excise.

Balochistan

Quetta Traffic Police publishes digital services at qtp.gob.pk. This site does not list a separate Balochistan camera-challan pay link. Use that traffic portal for police services, and Excise vehicle verification for ownership.

Sindh

This site does not list a Sindh traffic e-challan URL. Vehicle and tax checks stay on excise.gos.pk. See Sindh Excise.

Gilgit-Baltistan

No GB challan tool is listed here. Vehicle search is on gbexcise.gov.pk/vehicle-search.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
